Tina Marie Burns, 55, passed away peacefully Monday at the Mid-Valley Health Care Center, Peckville, after a year-long battle with lung cancer.
Born October 14, 1966, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Muse and Alleda Isom Burrell.
Tina is survived by her daughter, Jessica Failing and husband Michael, Scranton, her son, and a granddaughter, Lily Failing.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother and nephew.
Tina adored spending time with her granddaughter, Lily, who she loved immensely. She was proud to be her grandma, or "little Gaga." Tina had a larger-than-life personality; she loved making people laugh and cared deeply for her friends and family. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, crafting, cooking, and baking. She enjoyed music festivals, camping, shooting pool and darts, and attending concerts.
Tina’s family would like to thank Mid-Valley Health Care Center, Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Northeast Radiation Oncology Center (NROC), and Hematology and Oncology Associates of NEPA, for the kind and compassionate care given to Tina throughout her illness.
A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.
In leiu of flowers, friends wishing to honor Tina are invited to make a donation in her name to the charity of their choice.
