Robert A. DiDario, 86, of Old Forge, died Saturday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Born on March 25, 1938, in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Adolph R. and Angeline Mordent DiDario. Robert was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1957 and Williamsport Technical School where he received apprenticeship training. Prior to retirement, he was employed at the New Jersey Port Authority and as an industrial plumber at the Techniglass Corporation in Pittston. Robert was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.
Robert’s favorite past-times included: hunting, enjoying nature, sportsman shows, doing yardwork and spending time with his family. Robert was married to Connie (née Kudey) from Dupont. They were married for 63 years.
In addition to his wife Connie, Robert is also survived by three daughters, Doreen DiDario, Yvonne Noll and husband Nicholas, Old Forge, Donna Leshock and husband Christopher, Wilmington, DE, a grandson, Anthony Noll, a sister, Connie Genova, Taylor, two nieces, Denise Rinaldi, Angela Krulewicz, a sister in-law, Helen DiDario, and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Adolph DiDario.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Thomas Karasic and the oncology staff at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, the nurses at Geisinger CMC, and the Sacred Heart Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Robert’s funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Lous V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. August Ricciardi, Pastor. Interment at the Old Forge Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Robert on Tuesday evening 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
