Mary Ann Matechak

Mary Ann Matechak, 95, of Estero, Florida, formerly of Old Forge, died Tuesday at home.  She was the widow of the late, Joseph Matechak, who died in 1998.

Born September 3, 1929, in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Philomenia Palmere DiPipi.  Mary graduated from Old Forge High School.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the former Rohr Lingerie, Old Forge.  She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to Bingo, bus trips to Atlantic City, and cruising the Caribbean Sea.

She is survived by her four daughters; Phyllis Potosky and husband Robert, Old Forge, JoAnne Cherinka, Mary Anne Bennett, Linda Dukauskas and partner Paul Staritz, all of Estero, FL, grandchildren; Robin Serrenti and husband Justin, Thorndale, Taylor Bennett and partner Brad Dunne, North Wales, Sara Dukauskas and partner Nick Kovalik, Clarks Green, Jamie Bennett, Tiffany Dukauskas, both of Old Forge, great-grandchildren; Ella Rose Serrenti, Isabella Dunne, Nolan Riley Dunne, a sister in-law, Grace DiPipi, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Mary DiPipi, and two brothers, Carmen and Louis DiPipi.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge, by the Rev. August Ricciardi, Pastor.   Interment Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
