Louis F. Febbo, 81, of Old Forge, passed away Friday at home surrounded by his family. He was married to the former, Rosemary Ciuccio. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2025.

Born on September 9, 1944, in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Louis and Francis Cavalier Febbo. Louis was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1963. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Mansfield College and a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Marywood University. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Special Education teacher for the Northeastern Education Intermediate Unit #19. Louis was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a lifelong member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

Louis served on the Old Forge Borough Council for eight years. He was a former president of the Sons of Italy Club. His favorite past times included bocce, hunting, fishing, collecting Willys Jeep, working on his yard in his Bobcat, and his Saturday coffee clatch club with dear friends.

In addition to his wife, Rosemary, Louis is survived by his son, Louis and companion Lauren Tur, Old Forge, a daughter, Maura and companion Bill Ripley, Springfield, a brother, David and wife Mary Lou, Old Forge, a sister, Julie Mele, Old Forge, a grandson, Louis Diego Febbo, Tampa, Fl., nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Febbo.

To honor Louis, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. Walter E. Jenkins CSC, Pastor. Interment Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Louis at the Prince of Peace Parish on Saturday 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions in Louis’s memory may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18510.
