Judy Black Frushon August

Judy Black Frushon August passed away on Saturday in Orange Park, Florida, after a long-fought battle with diabetes.

Judy was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude Black. She attended Scranton Schools and graduated from Scott High School when her family moved to Montdale. She worked at Eureka Printing and then later, side by side with her late ex-husband, Tony Frushon, at their hoagie shop in Olyphant. Judy later moved to Orange Park, Florida, where she married Bernard August.

She loved her life in Florida. Judy would call her family often to keep in touch, but especially liked calling when Northeastern PA was dealing with a snowstorm.

Judy loved her children and grandchildren. She would usually come back to PA and stay for several weeks in the summer or fall.

Her heart was broken when she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony ‘Punky’ Frushon, and her brother James ‘Jimmy’ Black.

She is survived by her loving husband Bernie, son Jamie (Sharon) Frushon, daughter Becky Frushon, daughter-in-law Beth Frushon, granddaughter Amber, grandsons AJ (Sierra), Jamie Jr., and Kyrin, brothers Russ (Gail) Black, Joseph Black, and Chuck (Cindy) Black, sister Rena Black, and sister-in-law Mary Black, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. She will be missed by everyone.

A special thank you to Bernie and his family, and sister Rena, for being there for Judy in her final days to offer comfort and love.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
