Darlene Bozenko, 52, of Old Forge died Tuesday at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. She was married to David Bozenko. The couple celebrated their 29 th wedding anniversary on September 30.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Jean Ann Guariglia Benke and the late Harold Benke, Jr. She was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1984 and Lackawanna College. Darlene was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She was a great fan of Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Darlene was known for her kindness and great sense of humor. She was deeply loved by her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she is also survived by a sister, Susan Ralston and husband James, Taylor, nieces; Alyvia and Alexis Ralston, Amy Torelli, a nephew, Ted McCabe, a great-niece, Giovanna Austin, a brother in-law, Ted Bozenko and wife Lorraine, a sisters in-law, Nancy McCabe and husband Ted, Rose Flowers and husband Kevin, uncles, aunts, cousins, and her beloved pets, Abby, Zoey, Kayla and Nittany.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, to be officiated by the Reverand Joseph Finnan, who is Darlene’s great uncle. Interment Old Forge Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
