Anthony J. Mucciolo

Anthony J. “Tony” Mucciolo, 97, of Old Forge, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Claudia Cappuccino, in October 2022. They were married for 69 years.

Born on March 5, 1928, in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Lucia Passarella Mucciolo. Tony was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1945, and excelled in football. Prior to retirement, he was employed at Addy Asphalt and later Wayco, Inc., where he retired at age 86 as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a lifelong parishioner of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge. He was a member of the Felittese Association for many years.

Tony was an avid Penn State football fan and his favorite past-times were reading and planting his garden.

Tony’s family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli and Dr. Nishant Sethi for the utmost care given to Tony.

He is survived by two daughters, Anita and husband Bruce Kerr, Dallas, Maria and husband Danny Smallacombe, Old Forge, a grandson, Danny Smallacombe Jr. whom he loved dearly, nieces, and nephews.

Tony was also preceded in death by four brothers; Gino, Louis “Sour”, Joseph “Iggy”, and John “Babe”, several in-laws, and nephews.

To honor Tony, his funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, to be followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. Walter E. Jenkins CSC, Pastor. Interment Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Tony at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
